Huntington Beach Pier, Good place to photograph surfers, Excellent sunset/twilight location. Located on Pacific Coast Highway at the end of Main Street in Huntington Beach. Also great for birds.
Little Corona beach, arch rock and tidepools. Take Pacific Coast Highway to the end of Poppy Street and take the trail down to the beach. Also walk on Ocean Blvd. toward Big Corona beach for some panoramic photo's of the whole beach.

Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona del Mar. Located on Pacific Coast Highway, just south of MacArthur Boulevard in Corona del Mar.
Santee Lakes for winter birds. You can get to the lakes by going south on I-5 then east on highway 52. Take Mast Blvd off-ramp and follow the signs to the lakes.
