There is an old windmill on North Main Street on Conanicut Island (also known as Jamestown.) Another windmill is in a small park in Middletown on Paradise Avenue at the intersection of Prospect Avenue, south of Green End Avenue.

The Cliff Walk in Newport is an excellent place to photograph some of the mansions as well as the ocean waves breaking against the rocky shoreline.

Fort Wetherill south of the town of Jamestown.

Little Compton is very scenic as well. You might want to visit Wilbour Woods Park off Swamp Road and the old Wilbur House, barn and grounds, 548 West Main Road (Route 77).

Blackstone Valley check out the Visitor Center across the street from Slater Mill.

Arcadia Management area, West Greenwich, This is a State park in full of hardwood and pine forests with well marked hiking trails. streams, ponds, and swamps. From Providence and points north take Interstate Rt. 95 South, to State Route 102 South (exit #5A). Follow 102 south .8 miles to State Route 3 South. Follow 3 south 1.2 miles, and turn right onto State Route 165 West. Follow Route 165 West approximately 1.4 miles to Arcadia Road . Turn left and follow Arcadia Road about 3 miles, turning left at the stop sign. The Management Area Headquarters building will be on your right. You will pass the Browning Mill Pond Recreation Area on your way to the Headquarters.
