Fall Coloris late September and early October. Try Turtle Mountains and
along the Missouri River. Also check out the farms.
Sullys Hill National Game Preserve:
Wildlife photography of bison, elk,
prairie dogs, white tail deer as
well of many other animals can be
photographed. Take the 4 mile auto
tour. Take the spur road to sullys
hill for a scenic view and historic
Fort Totten. Best time is early in
the morning or late in afternoon
when the animals are more active.
Sweetwater Lake: drive around the
lake also there is a nature trail.
Best time is April to early June and
late August to mid-October.
Shores of Devils Lake head west on route 19.
Grahams Island State Park. Good for
white-tailed deer, beaver, wild
turkey, squirrels and owls.
Lake Alice National Wildlife Refuge. area
of shallow lakes that attract snow
geese from April to early May and
mid-September to mid-October. Also
Canada geese and ducks can be seen
nesting in spring. Good viewpoints
can be found at the tower at Lake
Alice and from the parking lots at
Chain Lakes
Theodore Roosevelt National Park
great for bison. Take the 36-mile
scenic loop road, also check at the
Medora Visitor Center for
information on where the bison and
Elk can be found
Audubon National Wildlife Refuge at Coleharbor
Lake Sakakawea
Painted Canyon at Medora
